In Progress

Here's an in progress shot of one of my latest paintings. It's of my parents having coffee in my sister's kitchen, although I guess that doesn't really matter. I'm thinking of it more in terms of mood and color. I'm working pretty small right now- this must be about 14x18", and the surface is begining to look finished and detailed, and that's the other side of what I'm going for. The small size and the level of detail are pretty new for me. Usually I work large and loose, and changing things up is interesting. I have a few more planned along these lines and then we'll see what I got out of it and where to go from there.

Audrey Olivia

Our daughter Audrey is four weeks old! Things are still crazy and we still aren't sleeping, but we're all doing well, and I actually spent a couple of hours in the studio today. I'll post pictures soon. I don't know how many single-session still life paintings I'll be doing. Right now I'm more interested in working on more involved paintings, but I'll be sure to show them in progress. Please bear with me as the pace may be glacial.
